Intoduction
The Madness Guesser is the online office pool for College Basketball; it manages the entry of weekly picks, tournament brackets, scores,
etc.
The NFL Guesser started in 1994 and continues today. 2024 is the inaugural season of the Madness Guesser.
Game Weights
To encourage picking of underdog teams and to add additional weight to correctly picked games for which there is even picking, points are awarded for wins.
Example: Team A vs Team B. If a large majority of users pick team A, then team A is weighted at 1 point and team B at 3 points.
Example: Team A vs Team B. If there is only a slight majority of users picking team A, then team A is weighted at 2 points and team B at 2 points.
Example: Team A vs Team B. If there is a majority of users picking team A but it is not extreme, then team A is weighted at 1 point and team B at 2 points.
Payout
During the regular season, the top 3 places each week earn $15/$10/$5.
$30 USD is paid to the winner of the Prognosticator.
$30 USD is paid to the winner of the Eliminator.
For the remaining funds, 82.5% of the money is returned for the Regular Season; 17.5% for the Playoffs.
The top 25% of the players in each season receive money, ranked by points descending.
The points accumulated for the playoffs is distinct from the regular season.

Enter Picks
This page allows the user to enter their picks. The user is unable to modify picks
for games where the start date/time has passed. After results are entered
this page displays the users wins and losses for the week.
A user may hide upto 2 picks from other users. After the game has started, the hidden picks will be visible to all users.
Summary - Regular/Playoff
This page allows anyone to view everyone's points (wins-losses) for the season or playoffs.
The users are sorted according to winning percentage.
Results in
green signify the highest score for the given week.
